The memory and heart of an industry

The Energy Institute, a respected member organisation and longstanding Thirdperson client approached us with a fresh challenge: the technical and innovation part of the business was generating exceptional content, critical safety standards, and influential opinions, all of which are helping to inform a carbon-free future. However, these powerful stories were not being leveraged effectively to engage potential members and convey the broader narrative of energy transition.

In essence, this project was about improving the way the Energy Institute tells its story – creating a consistent, powerful, and concise narrative, and then determining the best communication channels. We began by doing what we do best: asking questions and listening. Through a series of workshops and discussions, we formulated a narrative playbook containing key messages and arguments to win. This playbook became the foundation for creating and launching campaigns and other essential communication collateral.
We produced a prospectus and, in recognising that in any member organisation, the members themselves often have the most expertise and compelling stories, we collaborated with the client to develop a member story campaign, capturing members speaking openly and frankly about a range of topics such as the benefits of membership, the transition to a carbon-free future, and emerging technologies.
“We knew we had an important story to tell but didn’t know where to start. Thirdperson calmly and methodically helped us understand what we needed to say, how we needed to say it and where we needed to be told. The results are now visible for all to see, effectively telling our story in an engaging, creative, and impactful way.”
